Vanilla Cake Donuts

My Grandma used to make these donuts...and my mom used to make them...and now I make them. They are somewhat time consuming, but totally worth it!! I love them!

Ingredients

• 2 1/4 cups flour
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 1 c sugar
• 1 tsp salt
• 1/4 tsp nutmeg
• 1 T softened shortening (Crisco)
• 2 eggs
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 3/4 cup milk

Preparation

Step 1

Sift dry ingredients together. Add shortening. Add eggs, vanilla and milk. Put batter in donut maker and fry in 2” of hot shortening at 365 degrees. Frost or sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar.
