Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 cups water
  • 1 cup stone-ground grits
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Tabasco sauce

Preparation

Step 1

directions:

1. In a medium saucepan over high heat, bring water to a boil. Whisk in stone-ground grits and salt. Reduce heat to low and cook, stirring occasionally, until grits thicken, 35 to 40 minutes.

2. Remove from heat and add cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, butter, pepper, and Tabasco sauce.
