Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter flavored shortening
- 1 1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 tbsp pure vanilla
- 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 egg

Step 1
Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Combine shortening, brown sugar, milk and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Beat at medium speed of mixer until well blended. Beat in egg. Combine flour, salt and baking soda. Mix into creamed mixture just until blended. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoon full of dough 3-inches apart onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees F. for 8 to 10 minutes; for chewy cookies or 11 to 13 minutes for crisp cookies. DO NOT OVERBAKE. Cool slightly, the remove to foil to cool.
