Apple Pie

By

If you really want a delicious pie, and you don't mind the addition of dairy, dot a few pats of butter over the apples before adding the top crust. If you prefer to keep this dessert dairy free, it tastes just fine as it is.

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat the oven to 350F

2. Toss all the ingredients together and place in prepared piecrust (see basic pie crust recipe) Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until crust is browned.

3. Variations: To add berries to the recipe, decrease the amount of apples to 4 cups and add 1 cup of either blueberries, strawberries or raspberries.

4. If your apples are really juicy, you will need the larger amount of arrowroot. If they are not too juicy, only use 2 tablespoons arrowroot. You can also adjust the sweetness to your liking, taking into account that 1/2 cup agave will be less sweet.
