Ingredients
- 1 T yeast
- 1/4 C warm water
- 5 C flour
- 3 T sugar
- 1 T baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 C butter, cold
- 2 C buttermilk

Preparation
Step 1
Add yeast to warm water. Set aside for 10 minutes to dissolve.
Measure flour, sugar, baking powder, soda and slat into large bowl. Cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in yeast and buttermilk. Knead just enough to make dough hold together. On floured surface roll out dough 3/4 inch thick. Cut with biscuit cutter.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet in 400 oven for 15 minutes.
