CROUTONS*****Crisp Cheese Croutons for Soup 1 Picture

Ingredients

  • 4 servings
  • 2 about 2 cups assorted bread, cut into 1/2-inch cubes (3 ounces)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 oz. finely shredded sharp, hard cheese such as parmesan, asiago, etc. - use micro plane grater to shred finely

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 450ºF

In a bowl, drizzle bread cubes with olive oil and toss to coat. Sprinkle with cheese and toss to evenly coat. Spread out in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for about 8 minutes or until deep golden and crispy (watch closely that they don't burn). Remove from baking sheet immediately using a spatula and transfer to a bowl to cool.
