Ingredients

  • 2 T butter
  • 1 sm onion chopped
  • 3/4 c basmati rice
  • 1.5 c chicken broth
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Mushroom Version – 1/2 package dried mushrooms, re-hydrated

Step 1


1.Saute onions in butter
2.Add rice and sauté 2-3 minutes.
3.Pour in broth. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low. Cover, without stirring and simmer 15 minutes until almost all liquid is absorbed. (Add mushrooms, without liquid at about 10 minutes).
4.Remove from heat, let stand 5 minutes, without lifting the lid.
