COLA/ROOTBEER BBQ SAUCE

Prefer to use the rootbeer; don't use any sugar free soda.

Ingredients

• 1 12 ounce can Classic Coke
• 1 1/2 cups ketchup
• 1 cup finely chopped onion
• 1/4 cup cider vinegar
• 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
• 1 teaspoon chili powder
• 1 teaspoon salt

Preparation

Step 1

hot pepper sauce to taste
In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients.
Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium low and
simmer, covered for 30 to 45 minutes or until
sauce is thickened, stirring occasionally. Strain if
desired. Season with hot pepper sauce.

Can also substitute root beer.
