So, how to freeze carrots?
The first step in freezing carrots is the fact that the carrots should be washed first. This is very important for a number of reasons. Germs and soil particles are removed and this makes the carrots safer. Again, it makes sense to blanch the carrots before freezing them. Blanching can be described as a process in which vegetables are cooked very briefly at a high level of heat before they are used to prepare dishes or meals.
In the case of blanching carrots, the right moves are to wash the carrots first then peel the skin and cut off the ends. The next step would be to cut the carrots into small pieces. Water should be boiled then the carrots should be poured into the boiling water for just a few minutes. This is very important because if the carrots stay in the boiling water for longer than a few minutes, they will get mushy.
The carrots should then be removed from the water or drained. The cut carrots are then poured into cold water and this will stop the cooking process immediately. The final step is to drain the carrots, put them into a polyethylene bag, tie up the bag and put the bag into a plastic bowl. This plastic bowl is then put into the freezer. This is what the process of freezing carrots is all about.
