Chewy Chocolate Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips

Step 1
Place oven rack in center of oven. Preheat to 350. Lightly grease 2 rimless baking sheets.
Place butter in large bowl. With electric mixer, beat at high speed until fluffy and light colored. Add both sugars; beat until mixture is even fluffier.
Add 1 egg to batter, beat until blended. Add second egg along with vanilla and beat until smooth.
In separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda and salt. Pour half over batter. With wooden spoon, mix until no streaks remain. Stir in remaining flour mixture. Sprinkle with chocolate chips; stir until well distributed.
Scoop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls and drop onto prepared baking sheets, leaving 2 inch space between cookies. Bake for 8 - 12 minutes or until golden around edges and underneath. Remove from oven and set on rack to let cool for 2 minutes. Remove to rack to cool completely.
