Ingredients

  • 5 tbsp. butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1-1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup jam (optional)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1-1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted and cool

Preparation

Step 1

1. Beat butter until creamy. Add 1/2 cup sugar. Beat till fluffy. Add egg and beat. Add flour, baking powder, utmeg, then milk.

2. Place a spoonful of batter in well greased muffin cups. Drop a spoonful of jam in center if desired; top with remaining batter.

3. Bake at 350F for 25 minutes.

4. Mix remaining sugar with cinnamon. While still warm, dip each muffin top in melted butter, then sugar mixture.
