A classic from Puerto Rico that migrated north in the 1950s, this truly is a vacation in a glass. There are other cream of coconuts out there, but Coco López is the original and really makes the drink.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 ounces rum
  • 1 1/2 ounces cream of coconut (preferably Coco López brand)
  • 1 1/2 ounces unsweetened pineapple juice
  • 4 large chunks pineapple
  • 1 pint ice
  • Orange slice, for garnish

Preparation

Step 1

Add rum, cream of coconut, pineapple juice, pineapple chunks and ice to a blender. Blend until smooth, 30 seconds. Strain into a hurricane glass. Garnish with an orange slice.
