Ingredients

  • 2 pkgs. quick rise yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 4 Tbsp. Crisco
  • 3 3/4 cup hot water
  • 1 cup powered milk (optional)
  • 3/4 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup wheat germ (optional)
  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 6 cups wheat flour
  • 6 cups white flour

Preparation

Step 1

Dissolve yeast and the one cup warm water and a little sugar.

Dissolve crisco in the hot water and proceed with the recipe. Knead for about 5 minutes and let rise to double.

Divide into 3 loaves and let rise again to double.

Bake at 375 for 35 minutes.
