  • Prepared pizza dough

  • Egg white, slightly beaten

  • Kosher Salt

  • Garlic powder or Italian Salad Dressing

Directions

To recreate PIZZA ROLLS or what Little Caesar's calls their "Crazy Bread" at home, begin with prepared pizza dough (homemade recipe or store bought pizza dough. Let dough rise, as each recipe will direct, in a greased bowl, in a warm place, till doubled—usually with another bowl the same diameter, also greased inside, inverted over the bowl of dough while rising. Punch down that doubled dough and break off pieces about the size of an egg. Pat out to a rectangle shape, keeping it 1/2" thick. Roll the dough into cigar shapes and arrange 1" apart on greased and cornmeal dusted jelly roll pans. Wipe the top of each with slightly beaten egg white and sprinkle in Kosher Salt and a little garlic powder. OR instead of Kosher Salt and garlic powder let rolls rise till doubled on the baking sheet, bake at 375F about 16 to 18 mins or till golden brown and as soon as they're out of the oven, wipe tops lightly with a little bottled Italian Salad Dressing and then sprinkle in Kosher Salt. Frozen store-bought bread dough can be thawed and shaped as described above and baked into Pizza Rolls as well. There are also small loaf tube can dough in the dairy section of the supermarket that can be shaped and baked as I have just described, rather than making your own from scratch!
