Ingredients
- pastry for 2 crust 9 inch pie, your own or a mix
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 tsp minute tapioca
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 5 cups sliced, peeled and cored cooking apples (McIntosh is good)
- 1/4-1/2 tsp sugar

Preparation
Step 1
Roll out pastry on lightly flour surface. Fit into 9 inch pie plate. Roll out top crust.
Measure first amount of sugar, tapioca and cinnamond into large bowl. Stir.
Add apple. Stir well. Turn into pie shell. Dampen edge with water. Place second crust on top. Trim and crimp to seal. Cut slits in top.
Sprinkle with remaining sugar. Bake on bottom shelf in 350 oven for about 45 minutes until browned and apples are tender.
