Ingredients
- On medium heat, saute 1 pound each of lean ground pork and chicken for 5 minutes
- Add 2 medium onions minced
- 2 finely diced celery stalks
- 1 tablespoons minced fresh garlic
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 teaspoon dried savory
- 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- Dust mixture with 4 tablespoons flour Add 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1/2 cup shredded turnips
- Pour in 2/3 cup beef stock
- Blend well
- Season with salt and pepper
- Transfer ingredients to a 9 inch deep dish pie shell
- Brush edges with beaten egg

Top with additional pie crust. Seal edges. Brush top with beaten egg. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until brown. Serves 6 with garlic mashed potatoes and brown gravy.
