Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 c shortening
• 1 c brown sugar
• 1 c sugar
• 2 well beaten eggs
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1 1/2 c sifted all purpose flour
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 tsp soda
• 3 c quick oatmeal
• 2 c nuts, optional

Preparation

Step 1

Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs, vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture. Add oats and nuts. Shape into rolls. Wrap in wax paper' Chill thoroughly. Slice and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 350* for 10 minutes.
