Ingredients

  • 3 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 Tbl sugar
  • 1/2 Tbl kosher salt (less if using salted butter)
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 3/4 cups cold unsalted butter
  • 2/3 cup ice water
  • 2 Tbl sour cream
  • 1 tsp vinegar

Preparation

Step 1

1. Combine flour, sugar, salt, baking powder
2. Cut in butter until the chunks look like peas
3. Combine water, sour cream and vinegar and add to flour mixture all at once.
Do not overmix! Dough should be slightly crumbly.
4. Let rest in refrigerator at least 2 hours or overnight

Makes 3 single crust pastries
