Ingredients
- 2 cups sifted cake flour
- 2-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup egg whites (3)
- 1/4 cup sugar

Step 1
Sift flour, baking powder and salt together, Cream shortening until smooth; gradually add the 3/4 cup sugar, creaming until fluffly. Combine flavorings and milk and add to creamed alternately with dry ingredients, beating until smooth after each addition. Beat egg whites until they will just hold shape
(stiff but not dry), gradually beat in 1/4 cup sugar. Fold into batter. Grease muffin cups or line with paper cups. Bake
350 degree oven for 25 minutes.
