Crustless Broccoli Almond Quiche 0 Picture

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 and !/2 C Half and Half
  • 2 T melted butter
  • 1 T flour
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of cayenne pepper
  • pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 small pkg slivered almonds
  • 1 pkg frozen broccoli cuts defrosted, drained and patted dry on a paper towel
  • 1 C or so of shredded swiss
  • 1 C or so shredded montery jack chess

Details

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 375 degrees
butter a glass pie plate well
place broccoli on bottom of plate
Almonds on top of broccoli
Cheese next
Beat the eggs, half and half, butter, flour and spices with a wire wisk and poor on top of other ingredients
Bake for 30-40 minutes testing for doneness of eggs. Let sit at least 10 minutes before cutting. Is also dellicious cold.

this is a vegetarian recipe from my commune days in Fort pierce Fla. We made it with crust but I think crustless is just as good
I also recently used
cheddar and Jack cheese with slices of tomato and about 10 oz of cooked bacon pieces and it turned out great.
