Ingredients

  • 8 slices Italian bread, cut 1/2 inch thick
  • 2 Tbs butter, softened
  • 1/2 pound thinly sliced deli chicken or turkey
  • 4 Tbs basil pesto
  • 4 slices (1 ounce each) mozzarella cheese
  • Spaghetti sauce, warmed, if desired

Step 1

Spread one side of each bread slice with butter. Place 4 bread slices with butter sides down; top with chicken, pesto and cheese. Top with remaining bread slices, butter sides up.

Cover and cook sandwiches in 12-inch skillet over medium heat 4-5 minutes, turning once, until bread is crisp and cheese is melted. Serve with spaghetti sauce.
