Ingredients

  • 2 T gelatin
  • 4 T cold water
  • 2 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • dash salt
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 2 t vanilla
  • 2 cup heavy cream, whipped

Preparation

Step 1

Soften gelatin in water. Scald milk in double boiler. Add gelatin, sugar and salt. Stir until dissolved. Beat yolks slightly and add a little of hot mixture to yolks and then return to hot mixture. Cook over hot (not boiling) water until slightly thickened, stirring. Remove and cool. When almost set, fold in stiffly beaten egg whites, vanilla and whipped cream. Turn into mold. Recipe fits into bundt mold.

To unmold, fill sink with hot water and dip pan briefly. Unmold onto platter and garnish with fresh fruit if desired.
