  • 3 teaspoons arrowroot
  • powder or instant clear jel
  • 2 ounces (57 g) water
  • 2 ounces (57 g) cherry
  • juice (reserved from frozen
  • cherries or canned cherries)
  • 2 ounces sugar
  • 2 full cups or 12 ounces
  • (340 g) fresh pitted cherries
  • or 1 bag (12 ounces ) (340 g)
  • frozen cherries, thawed, or
  • 1 can (15 ounces) (425 g) of
  • canned cherries
  • 1/2 ounce (14 g) cherry
  • brandy (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

1. Mix the arrowroot (or instant clear jel) with the water.
2. Combine the arrowroot, (or instant clear jel) and water, cherry juice,
sugar, cherries and bring to a boil over medium heat.
3. Once it thickens – about 2 minutes — taste and add more sugar if
needed.
4. Remove from heat and add optional cherry brandy.
5. Let cool before using
