Ingredients

  • Frosting:
  • 4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1- 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 24 sliced marshmallows or lots of
  • minature marshmallows
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  • 2 cups of confectioner's sugar
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease 13 x 9" pan.
Melt chocolate and shortening over low heat.
Remove from heat.
Mix in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt.
Spread in pan.
Bake for 30 minutes.
While still hot cover with marshmallows. (Can be put back in turned off oven to help marshmallows melt for a minute or 2.) Frost immediately.

Frosting:

Melt 2 squares of unsweetened chocolate and 2 Tbsp. butter in top of double boiler.
Remove from heat.
Add:
1 Tbsp. water
2 cups of confectioner's sugar
1 beaten egg
1 tsp. vanilla
