Ingredients
- 1 bag small white onions
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 2 cups milk

Step 1
Boil peeled onions till tender, about 1/2 hour.
In medium saucepan, slowly heat butter just until melted and golden, not browned, stirring all the while.
Remove from heat.
Add flour, salt, and pepper; stir until smooth.
Add milk, a small amount at a time, blending till smooth after each addition.
Return to heat and bring to boiling, stirring constantly, over medium heat.
Reduce heat. Simmer one minute.
Place onions in a casserole dish and cover with white sauce.
Bake at 350 degrees about 20 minutes, or until bubbly.
