- 1/4 cup butter/margarine
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg, fork beaten
- 1 cup medium unsweetened coconut
- 3/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- CARAMEL ICING
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cut butter/hard margarine
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 cup icing sugar

Preparation
Step 1
Melt butter in large saucepan on medium. Remove from heat. Add brown sugar. Stir. Add egg. Stir.
Add next 5 ingredients. Stir well. Spread even in greased 9 x 9 inch pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for about 30 minutes until set and edges start to turn golden.
CARAMEL ICING: Heat and stir frist 3 ingredients in small saucepan on medium until melted. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer, uncovered, for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool
Add icing sugar. Stir until light and creamy, adding more icing sugar or milk if necessary until spreading consistency. Spread evenly over top. Let stand until icing is firm.
