Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp coarse salt
- 1/8 tsp ground pepper
- 1/2 lb chopped dark chocolate
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Step 1
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Whisk together flour, cocoa, cinnamon, baking soda, salt and pepper.
Microwave chopped dark chocolate and butter for one minute. Stir until melted.
Mix chocolate mixture with sugar, eggs and vanilla on medium speed until combined. Add flour mixture on low speed. Fold in chocolate chips.
Line cookie sheets with parchment paper. Using a 1 1/2 inch ice cream scoop, drop scoops of cookie dough onto the parchment paper, two inches apart. Bake cookies for 15 minutes, until they look flat and the surfaces crack (cookies should still be soft in texture). Cool on parchment paper.
