Old Fashioned Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 cup crisco
• 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1/2 cup buttermilk
• 1 3/4 cup sifted flour
• 1 tsp. soda
• 1 tsp. baking powder
• 1 tsp. salt
• 1 tsp. cinnamon
• 1 tsp.nutmeg
• 1/2 tsp. vanilla
• 3 cups Oats
• 1/2 cup raisons
• 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Preparation

Step 1

Cream together shortening,brown sugar and eggs till light & fluffy. Stir in buttermilk. Sift together flour,soda,baking powder,salt & spices. Stir into creamed mixture. Stir in oatmeal,raisons & nuts. Drop by Tablespoon on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 400o about 10-12 min. (Freezes well)
