Ingredients

  • 1/2 large loaf of day old french bread, torn into small pieces
  • 3 tbs butter, melted
  • 1 # Monterey Jack, shredded
  • 1/3 # genoa salami, julienned
  • 10 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c milk, whole
  • 1/3 c white wine
  • 3 large green onions,sliced thinly
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/8 tsp coarse black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 c sour cream
  • 1/2 c parmesan cheese, grated

Preparation

Step 1

In a well greased 9x13 baking dish spread bread pieces and drizzle with butter. Sprinkle with Monterey Jack cheese and salami.
Beat eggs, milk, wine,onions, mustard, and peppers until frothy. Pour over bread.
Cover with aluminum foil and refrigerate overnight.
Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Bake covered at 325* for 1 hour.
Uncover, spread with sour cream and sprinkle with parmesan and bake 10 minutes more.
