Ingredients

  • 1 hoagie roll
  • Mayonnaise
  • Light soy sauce or Maggi Seasoning sauce
  • 1/4 of one of the following: liver pate, or Vietnamese steamed pork sausage (gio lua), sliced and at room temperature, or savory Chinese sausage, cooked and sliced on the diagonal
  • 1 small cucumber, sliced lengthwise, with seeds removed
  • 2 or 3 sprigs cilantro, coarsely chopped
  • 2 tbsp Crunchy Pickled Bean Sprout Salad recipe

Step 1

Slit the hoagie roll lengthwise, leaving it attached on the back side. If the rest of the ingredients have already been prepped, toast the hoagie roll in a toaster over or conventional oven.

Generously spread the cut sides of the bread with mayonnaise and then drizzle with the soy sauce or Maggi seasoning sauce. Layer the meat, cucumber, cilantro, chile, and pickle on the bottom half. Close the sandwich, cut in half crosswise for easy eating and enjoy.
