APPLE PIE DELUXE

Ingredients

  • Filling:
  • Pie Crust: (Plain Pastry)
  • 1-1/2 Cupn Flour
  • 1/2 Tsp. Salt
  • 1/2 Cup Crisco
  • 4 to 5 Tbsp. Cold Water
  • 7-8 medium Golden Delicious applies
  • 1/2 Tsp. Cinnamon
  • 3/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup plus 3 Tbsp. All-purpose Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Butter (1 Stick)
  • 1 Large Oven-Cooking Bag with nylon tie

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven 400 degrees
- Prepare pie crust as you wish, and line pie plate.
- Peel, core and thinly slice apples and mix with ¼ cup sugar, cinnamon and 3 Tbsp. flour. Fill pie shell with apple mixture. Pile mixture high in center.
- In small bowl, with hand, knead butter, remaining ½ cup sugar and ½ cup flour into a small dough.
- Pull dough into small pieces; flatten each slightly and arrange on top of apples.*
