  • 1/2 c butter
  • 2/3 c white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp BS
  • 1 c cornmeal
  • 1 c AP flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven for 375 '. Grease an 8" square pan.
2. Melt butter in large skillet. Remove from heat, stir in sugar.
3. Quickly add eggs and beat until blended.
4. Combine buttermilk with baking soda and stir into mixture in pan.
5. Stir in cornmeal, flour and salt until well blended and a few lumps remain.
6. Pour batter into prepared pan.
7. Bake in oven 30-40 minutes, or do toothpick test.
8. Enjoy.
