  • 1 box German Chocolate cake mix
  • 14 oz. caramel squares
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup pecans (broken in large pieces)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Step 1

Prepare cake mix as directed, including greasing and flouring pan (use 13x9 size). Pour 1/2 of prepared cake mix in pan. Cook 15 minutes in preheated 350° oven. In a pan over low heat, melt butter and caramel squares and mix in milk. Stir constantly until caramels and butter are melted. Pour mixture over cooked cake. Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts over caramel layer. Pour remaining half of cake batter over this. Return to oven and bake 20 minutes at 350°.
