Cake Mix Dessert Waffles
By srumbel
All you have to do is choose a cake mix flavor, add the correct amount of water, oil and eggs listed on the back of the box, fire up your waffle iron and cook them up. Now that’s fun. At least, I thought it was pretty fun and so super easy! I got a little creative and made three different flavors, adding different toppings and flavors of ice cream to each I thought paired nicely. It was a happy day in my kitchen, gang.

Preparation
Step 1
Choose a cake mix, any flavor will do.
Add the ingredients listed on the back of the box. Mix with a hand mixer (or in your large stand mixer) on low for 30 seconds. Scrape the bottom of the bowl with a rubber spatula and mix for 2 minutes on medium high-speed. This really helps the batter to thicken up and get nice and glossy for you.
Heat your waffle iron up until it's nice and hot. Spray it generously with cooking spray and pour some batter in. Cook until done. They will be a bit softer than regular waffles when they are done, so take care when you remove them from the iron. They will firm up once the begin to cool and will have a slightly crisp exterior. Not quite as crispy as regular waffles, but crisp enough.
yields about 12 full sized waffles.
