Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 4 tablespoons packed dark brown sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, chilled, cut into 1/2" cubes
- 1/2 cup plus 6 T whipping cream
- 1/2 cup plus 2 T maple syrup
- 2/3 cup icing sugar

Step 1
Preheat oven to 375.
Whisk flour, 2 T brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in large bowl to blend. Add butter and cut in. Stir 1/2 cup whipping cream and 1/2 cup syrup in small bowl to blend. Gradually add to flour, stirring until dough comes together, adding more cream by T if too dry. Knead gently until smooth. Pat into 8" round. Cut into 8 wedges. Transfer to baking sheet 2-inches apart. Bake until golden and tester comes out clean, about 20 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
Whisk 2 T brown sugar, 6 T cream and 2 T syrup to blend. Whisk in enough powdered sugar to form a thick glaze. Drizzle over warm scones.
