Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups cubed whole wheat bread
  • 3 3/4 cup cubed white bread
  • 1 pound ground turkey sausage or sausage substitute
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1/3 cup parshley, chopped
  • 2 1/2 tsp dried sage
  • 1 1/2 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 Golden Delicious apple, cored and chopped
  • 3/4 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/3 cup minced fresh parsley
  • 3/4 cup turkey stock
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Spread bread cubes in single layer on baking sheet. Bake 5 to 7 minutes or until evenly toasted. Place cubes in a large bowl.

In a large skillet, cook the sausage and onions over medium heat, until evenly browned and crumbled. Add celery, sage, rosemary and thyme: cook for 2 minutes, stirring to blend flavors. Pour sausage mixture over bread in bowl. Mix in chopped apples, cranberries and parsley. Drizzle with turkery stock and melted butter, and lightly mix, Spoon loosely into turkey.
