Ingredients
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 3 Tbsp. shortening
- 4 cups milk, scalded
- 12 - 13 cups sifted flour
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 2 pkgs. yeast
- 6 tsp. salt
- 1/4 cup lukewarm water

Preparation
Step 1
Soften yeast in lukewarm water.
Scald milk.
Add sugar, salt, and shortening to milk.
Cool to lukewarm.
When cooled,add 2 cups flour, stirring well.
Add softened yeast and eggs.
Add enough more flour to make a moderately stiff dough.
Knead on floured board 5 - 8 minutes.
Put in greased bowl.
Grease surface of dough.
Cover and let rise till doubled ( about 1 1/2 hours).
Punch down.
Let dough rest 10 minutes.
Put in greased loaf pans and let rise 45 minutes or until doubled.
Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
Yield:3 loaves
