Ingredients

  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 lb sweet cream butter
  • 3/4 c milk
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 tsp flavoring (almond,vanilla, lemon,rum etc.)Patricia uses 3 tsp.

Preparation

Step 1

Place flour, sugar, butter, milk, eggs and flavoring in that order in a 4-qt. bowl. Beat at low speed 1 minute, stopping to scrape down sides. Beat at medium speed 2 minutes.
Put into a greased and floured 10" tube pan.
Bake at 325^ for 1 hour & 30 min. or until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool in pan on a wire rack 10 min; remove from pan, cool 10 min

If desired glaze:
1 stick soft butter, 1 box 10X sugar, juice of 2 lemons. Make glaze & refrig

trim crust from top, flip over & glaze
