Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 Cup coarsely chopped onion (1 large)
  • 1 Cup coarsely chopped green bell pepper (1 medium)
  • 1 Lb boneless skinless chicken breast,cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/2 Lb smoke chorizo sausage,cut into 1/2-inch slices
  • 1 Cup uncooked regular long-grain white
  • rice
  • 1/2 Tsp salt
  • 1/2 Tsp ground turmeric
  • 2 Cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 Lb uncooked deveined peeled medium shrimp,tail shells removed
  • 1 Cup Green Giant Select Valley Fresh Steamers frozen sweet peas
  • 1 Can (14.5oz) Italian-style stewed tomatoes,undrained

Preparation

Step 1

1)In 12-inch skillet or Dutch oven,heat oil over medium-high heat until hot. Add onions and bell pepper;cook and stir 2 minutes. Add chicken and sausage;cook 8 to 10 minutes,stirring frequently,until chicken and sausage are no longer pink in the center.

2)Add rice,salt,turmeric and broth;mix well. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat to medium-low. Cover,cook 20 minutes,stirring occasionally.

3)Add shrimp,peas and tomatoes;stir gently to mix. Cover;cook 8 to 12 minutes longer,stirring occasionally,until shrimp turn pink and liquid is absorbed.
