Digna’s Meat Sauce

Good ground meat sauce to put over pasta. The fresh basil leaves makes this extra scrumptious!

Ingredients
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 chopped green pepper
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 6 lb chopped ground beef, veal, pork
- 10 leaves fresh basil
- 2 tomatoes chopped
- 2 small can tomato paste
- Italian seasoning
- 3 T olive oil
Details
Preparation
Step 1
Saute' onion & green pepper in olive oil until browned.
Add garlic, toss all together and set aside.
Brown the ground meats in olive oil.
Combine the browned vegetables, the browned meats, and add the tomato paste.
Stir in torn fresh basil leaves.
Simmer for 30 minutes to blend the flavors well.
If sauce is too thick, thin it with beef broth.
