Chocolate Saucepan Brownies

½ cup butter margarine
1 package (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1 can (11 oz.) Campbells condensed Cheddar cheese soup
½ cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 ½ cups all purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 cup chopped pecans, divided
Preheat oven to 350deg. Grease 13 by 9 inch pan. In 3 qt. saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Reduce heat to low. Add chocolate pieces; stir until melted. Remove from heat.
With spoon, beat in soup, sugar and eggs. Add flour and baking powder; stir until blended. Stir in ¾ cup of the pecans. Spread batter in prepared pan. Sprinkle with remaining ¼ cup of pecans.
Bake 25 to 35 minutes or until top springs back when lightly touched. Cool in pan on wire rack.
