Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter flavor shortening
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 6 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt

Step 1

Mix shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Mix well until all creamy. Mix together the flour, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl. Mix in the flour mixture, a little at a time until all the flour mix is combined. You can roll out the dough immediately, or refrigerate it to roll out later. Then using a cookie cutter, cut out as many cookies as you can until all the dough is used. Bake at 350 degrees for 7 - 10 minutes. Do no over bake. These are best when they are soft. You can frost them or eat plain.
