Ingredients
- 1/3 cup boiling water
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp. butter
- juice and grated rind of 1 lemon
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tsp. cornstarch
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 egg, separated

Preparation
Step 1
Bring first 5 ingredients to boil in stainless steel or enamel pan. Boil 1 min. Blend cornstarch, milk, egg yolk. Stir into boiling mixture over low heat until thick. Remove from heat. Fold int stiffly beaten egg white.
For apple pie or cobbler.
