Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked brown rice
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup fresh chopped parsley
  • 1 cup finely chopped zucchini
  • 4 TBSP flax seed
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 cup mushrooms (any kind)
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp celery salt
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper
  • 1 cup grated carrots
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onions

Preparation

Step 1

Start cooking the brown ric. While the brown ric is cooking begin chopping the other veggies. When you have all the veggies chopped, cook them in a dry pan for about 10 minutes on medium heat, stirring occasionally. When the rice and the veggies are done cooking, put them together in a large bowl. Add the egg whites and dry ingredients. Mix well.
Set grill at 350 degrees or fry pan on medium heat. Separate mix into 1/2 cup portions, press into patties and cook on a grill or in a fry pan sprayed with olive oil. Brown on both sides. (about 5 minutes on each side)brown rice
Yields: 10 patties



Tips & Bonus Information
Put these on Whole Grain sandwich thins that have garlic flavored hummus spread on them. Add a slice of tomato and some lettuce and you have a wonderfully healthy burger for around 200 calories. I put these in baggies and freeze them. I just take one out when I want a tasty patty. Switch it up! Add your favorite veggies. Don't forget to adjust the calorie content if you're counting calories.
