Ingredients
- ICING:
- 1/2 c butter
- 1 c sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 1 3/4 c all purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 c sliced almonds
- 2 tbs milk
- 1 c confectioners' sugar
- 1/4 tsp almond extract
- 1/4 c milk

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven 325*
Cream butter and sugar, add egg and almond extract, mixing until fluffy.
Stir in flour, baking powder and salt. Mix well.
Divide dough into 4 pieces and roll each into a 12 inch log. Place 4-5 inches apart on 2 baking sheets , lightly greased.
Flatten logs by hand until they are about 3 inches wide.
Brush with milk and sprinkle with almonds.
Bake 12-15 minutes or until edges are golden.
While the cookies are still warm, slice each log diagonally into 12 pieces.
Cool completely and drizzle with almond icing.
