Swedish Meatballs

Ingredients
- 3 TB unsalted butter
- 1/2 onion, minced
- 1 cup fresh bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup cold whole milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp caraway seeds
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp allspice
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 2 TB flour
- 1 cup half-n-half
- 3/4 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp worcestershire sauce

Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 400. Line a roasting pan with foil.
2. In a small skillet warm 1 TB butter over medium heat until melted. Add onion and cook until tender.
3. In a large bowl combine onion, bread, milk, caraway seeds, 1/2 tsp salt and pepper each, allspice and egg. Mix well, then add meat.
4. Use about tsp of mixture for each meatball, shaping about 40 meatballs. Place in raosting pan.
5. Bake, turning once, for about 12-15 minutes. Should be firm when pressed.
6.In a large skillet warm 2 TB butter over medium heat. Add flour and cook, stirring about 30 seconds. Add half-n-half and broth; bring to a boil.
7. Cook, whisking, until gravy is thickend. Whisk in worcestershire sauce and remaining salt and pepper.
8. Add meatballs and bring to a boil over medium high heat.
9. Reduce to medium-low heat. Cover and simmer about 10 minutes.
