Ingredients
- 2 c. butter (can use 1/2 margarine, but butter gives a better flavor)
- 2 c. sugar
- 6 T. water
- 2 T. light corn syrup
- 1 c. salted slivered almonds
- 1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation
Step 1
Start melting butter in heavy saucepan over low heat. Gradually add sugar, stirring constantly. Blend in water and syrup; set candy thermometer in place. Cook over medium heat, stirring a few times until temperature reaches 300 degrees. Stir in almonds. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Quickly pour into 15 x 10 x 1-inch jellyroll pan and spread to corners. Cool. Break into pieces. Store in tightly covered container.
