Ingredients

  • 1 large loaf of french bread
  • 16 oz fresh mozzerella
  • 6 tomatoes
  • 1 bunch of fresh basil
  • 2 teaspoons garlic
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter and add 1 teaspoon garlic and salt.
Cut french bread at a slant until you get 24 pieces. Brush with butter garlic mixture and place on sheet pan. Toast in oven until they are crisp and brown on top. Take out of oven and let cool completely.

Meanwhile, dice tomato and place in bowl. Take stems off of basil, stack leaves on top of eachother and roll. Slice roll horizontally into strips and add to tomato. Then mix in the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, 1 teaspoon garlic, salt and pepper.

Slice mozzerella until you have 24 pieces. Place a slice of mozzerella cheese on top of each piece of toasted french bread. Top cheese with a spoon full of the tomato mixture. Serve cold.
