HOLLY TURNER'S LASAGNE FROM SCRATCH
This a "fancy" lasagne recipe... lots of work because you make the meat sauce from scratch - great for company!!

Ingredients
- 1 lb lasagne noodles
- 1 lb mozzarella
- 1 lb ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 cup grated parmesan
- SAUCE
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 large onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 lbs lean ground beef
- 2 - 15 oz cans tomatoe sauce
- 1 - 28 oz can Italian tomatoes
- 1 - 5 oz can tomatoe paste
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup red wine
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp basil
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 - 8 oz can mushrooms

Preparation
Step 1
Cook noodles.
Brown ground beef and onions in oil. Combine all other ingredients and cook for 2 hours.
Put in lasagne pan.
Start with meat layer, noodles, mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese and egg mixture, parmesan cheese - end with meat sauce.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour
