Treebeard's Buttercake

I had these delicious cookie bars at a meeting in Houston and was immediately infatuated with them. One of the women in the meeting told me the name and when I got home I "googled" on it and there is was for all the share! I simply moved it to my Key Ingredient cookbook. How did we ever get along without an internet??

Ingredients
- Crust:
- 1 box of Pillsbury Plus Yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup of butter (one stick) melted
- 1 egg
- Filling:
- 3 1/3 cups powdered sugar, sifted
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 3-ounce packages of cream cheese, softened
- 1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar, sifted

Preparation
Step 1
For the crust
Spray a 10x15 inch jelly rool pan with non-stick spray
With an electric mixer, in a large bowl, blend the cake mix, melted butter and one egg on low until mixture comes together and is moist. Pour into the prepared pan. Pat it into the bottom and side of the pan until you have a relatively uniform level.
For filling
With electric mixer on low, mix 3 1/3 cups of sifted powdered sugar, eggs, vanilla and softened cream cheese until moist. Turn mixer to high speed and blend for five minutes. Turn mixer back to low speed. Add remaining powdered sugar and mix until blended. Return mixer to high speed and beat for 5 more minutes. Pour mixture over crust and spread evenly.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until golden brown on top. Cool over wire cake rack. when cool, cut into squares.
